Hey A-fan-da’s

Hope you like the name, because I am now legally obligated to call you that from now on, or I’ll lose one of my kidneys!

I figured now would be a good time to let you all in on something we’ve kept under wraps since development on Amanda the Adventurer began: We have recast the role of Amanda and she is now played by Blair Greene-Osako. It wasn’t an easy pick, we had a lot of amazing candidates that auditioned alongside her, but ultimately we all felt she fit the role of Amanda the best!

Well I guess I can’t just drop that on you without explaining myself. Since we had a week to make the original jam entry, we didn’t have a lot of time to find resources for the game. That’s where Chelsea comes in; since we live together it just made sense to ask her if she’d voice the character. We figured she would do just fine for what we needed at the time, but she honestly killed it! Fast forward a couple months later and the game is doing extremely well and DreadXP approaches us to develop a full game. With the possibilities that funding and time could provide us, there was one thing we all felt we needed to address and that was to recast Amanda. Amanda is a black character, something Reece suggested while designing her, yet for the jam version she was voiced by a white actor. Since none of us expected the game to pop off as it did at the time, we felt the decision was fine under the circumstances. Now that the circumstances had changed, we felt it was more appropriate for Amanda to have a black voice actor fit the role.There's plenty of extremely talented black voices out there and it feels right offering the role to one of those voices. And don’t worry, Chelsea’s not entirely out of the game. A couple of you will probably hear a familiar voice here and there ;). 

Anyway that's it from us for now, I wanted to once again shout out Blair and thank her for playing such a key part in the character, we honestly couldn’t have asked for a better voice for the character and we hope you all love her performance as much as the rest of us at MANGLEDmaw do. In terms of updates to the game itself, I don’t want to give too much away but keep your eyes peeled. Something’s on the way that I’m sure you all are going to be excited about. Later!
