A full Amanda the Adventurer game is coming in 2023!

Hey all, James here!

So let's talk about that reveal huh? Yes it's true, we're partnering with DreadXP to make a full-fledged continuation of Amanda the Adventurer! We've already been in pre-production for about 2 months now and I can't wait to show you guys what we have in store. We have some fresh new changes, new mechanics, and a brand new narrative but at it's core it's still the Amanda the Adventurer game we all know and love. After all, the original Mangled Maw team is working on this and this is what we all want in a full Amanda the Adventurer game, so rest assured it's in good hands. Mostly because it's in the exact same hands (with a couple of brand new ones too!).

As for this teaser update, we wanted to showcase one of the more drastic changes we're taking with the game and that is the inclusion of a fully explorable 3D environment. While the demo version's environment is pretty small, being replica of the original room, the one in the full version will be bigger and jam packed with puzzles, scares, and bits of lore I know you guys are going to love. That means that there won't be updates to the demo version until our full release in 2023. We wanted to leave you guys with a bang and give you guys a taste of what we're putting into the full release so I hope you all really enjoy it and are looking forward to what we got in store for you.

Lastly, I just want to take the opportunity to thank everyone for your support and love for the game. When we first made this game for the Found Footage Jam, we were convinced maybe like 3 people would play it? Shortly after, that 3 became 100 which became 1,000 which at the time of writing this, is now 920k! The amount of passion we see in the fanbase, all of the videos, the theories (looking at you MatPat), the fanart, is simply incredible and means the world to us. We would never have even gotten this far without you all motivating us with your support, so from all of us at MangledMaw, thank you! I would also like to thank the amazing DreadXP for the opportunity of a lifetime. Gonna be honest with you guys, this sort of thing doesn't tend to happen often in the industry, it's extremely rare. To have the ability to work on a horror game that I led and designed? And to get paid for it?! Literally my dream. So thank you DreadXP and to all of the fans for the opportunity to make that dream come true.

Anyway, I've gone on long enough. Hope you guys enjoyed the demo and are pumped for the full game coming in 2023! Stay tuned to our Twitter as well as Dread's for updates, devlogs and more if you're interested in the game. Also we currently have a Steam page up where you can play the demo and add us to your wishlist! Every wishlist we get helps us out immensely so if want to show us some love, head on over and add us to your wishlist. It'll make Wooly's day, and honestly at this point I think he's earned it.

Happy Halloween everyone! Later!

Wow, I'm excited for this update. I can't wait to see what youtubers have to say about the game being done!

YEEE i am exicted i love horror games esspassily this one

Is it going to be free?

No, people need to make money y'know

How much is it Going to be?

(+1)

probably 10 to 20 dollars

What makes you think it won't? Free games exist on Steam (and high paid games are sometimes too), you never really know

The devs worked hard on the full release, and they need to make money

I mean I suppose yeah, mainly since its an additional team being added and they would need to be paid but again - working hard on something doesn't always equal its going to be paid, like passion projects. Maybe it'll get funded by donations/patreon-esque funding, and it'll be free...or Not, who really knows. I've seen some people upload games for Free, then have a DLC avilable that acts like a donation to support them, so maybe they'll do that. Idid however recently learn it costs a fee to list a game on Steam, so sure if thats the same as publishing it but either way I dont mind buying it, or supporting it if funding is an option.

it's been announced by the team that it's not free.
